How to check your lyrics before you generate

Paste your lyrics to see about how long the song will run and catch the tags and lines that make songs cut off, loop or stumble. Then turn the same lyrics into just the words, ready to post. Free, and nothing leaves your browser.

  1. Open the song length checker

Find it in the Studio, or tap the button under this guide. It works in any language. No lyrics handy? Tap Try an example to see what it does.

  2. Paste your lyrics, tags and all

Paste the whole thing you plan to give Suno, with [Verse], [Chorus] and the other tags left in. The tags count toward the length too.

  3. See about how long it will run

You get a range, like 3:10 to 3:35, and whether that is a standard single. Lyrics of about 1,350 to 1,600 characters usually come out around 3:20 to 3:35. Tempo and long instrumental parts move it, so treat it as a guide.

  4. Check the shape of the song

Each section tag shows up in order, with the choruses colored in. It is a quick way to see if a verse or chorus went missing.

  5. Read the checks

A yellow triangle is something to fix, like a song with no ending, which is the usual cause of songs that stop mid-line or keep looping. A light bulb is a tip, like numbers written as digits. Each one says which line it means.

  6. Fix them right in the box

Here we finish with [Outro] and a short closing line, and write 2 as two. The checks update as you type, until it says Looks good. Nothing to fix.

  7. Want the lyrics to post? Open the Lyrics cleaner

Lyrics for Suno are full of instructions people do not need to read. Open the Lyrics cleaner from the Studio and paste them into Lyrics with tags.

  8. Your clean lyrics appear right away

The tags, the production notes in (parentheses) and ad-libs like (ooh, ooh) are taken out. Whispered or spoken lines stay in as normal words, with one blank line between stanzas.

  9. See what was taken out

It tells you how many tags, directions and ad-libs it removed. Tap See what was removed for the full list.

  10. Optional: keep the ad-libs

Tick Keep ad-libs in (parentheses) if you want bits like (ooh, ooh) to stay in the lines.

  11. Copy them and post

Tap Copy, then paste the lyrics into your upload, a caption or a lyric post. It follows simple rules, so give them a quick read first.
