How to make a lyric video for YouTube
Turn one of your tracks into a full-length lyric video: your cover art, the words lighting up as they're sung, plus a thumbnail and a title, description and chapters ready to paste on YouTube. Free, and it takes a few minutes.
Open the Lyric video maker
Find it under Tools, or tap the button under this guide. Sign in first so it can show your tracks.
Pick one of your tracks
Tap a song in the list, or search for it. The song needs its lyrics on Latido. If it says no lyrics yet, add them to the track in Your uploads (Edit), then come back.
Tap Sync the lyrics
It listens to your song and finds when each word of your lyrics is sung. It takes about half a minute. You only do this once per song.
Play the preview
Your cover sits on the left and the lyrics on the right. Each word lights up as it is sung. Watch it through and see if the words keep up.
Look for lines marked check
Check means most of that line was hard to hear, so its time is a guess. Tap the time on any line to play from just before it.
Fix a line that comes in early or late
Minus and plus move the line a tenth of a second earlier or later. Or play the song and tap Now on the line the moment it is sung. Your changes save on their own.
Choose the artwork and size
Use your cover, or Canvas loop if the track has a canvas. 1080p works everywhere. 1440p looks sharper on YouTube, even for people watching in 1080p, but the file is bigger.
Tap Make the video
Choose where to save it, and the video is made right in your browser. It takes a minute or two, so keep the tab open. This part needs Chrome or Edge on a computer.
Get a thumbnail too
Tap Thumbnail to download a picture for your video, with your cover, the song title and your name.
Copy the title, description and tags
They are written for you. The description links back to your song on Latido and has chapters and the full lyrics. Tap Copy on each one and paste it into YouTube.
Upload it as a normal video
Not a Short. Set the category to Music and add an end screen over the last 20 seconds. If your distributor runs Content ID on this song, add your channel to its allowlist first so the video is not claimed.
