How to make a mixtape promo video

Turn an album or a handful of your tracks into one smooth mix of their best parts, blended on the beat, as a vertical video for Reels, TikTok and Shorts with a tracklist and the Latido end card. Free, and it takes a few minutes.

  1. Open the Mixtape maker

Find it under Tools, or tap the button under this guide. It mixes the best part of each of your tracks into one promo video.

  2. Choose what kind of mix

Album sampler plays every track on one of your albums. Artist mixtape lets you pick up to 8 tracks. Release countdown is a short teaser that builds to an album's release day.

  3. Pick the album or your tracks

An album loads in album order. For a mixtape, tap your tracks in the order you want them. You can also add audio files of your own, and they stay on your device.

  4. Choose how long

30 seconds for a teaser, 60 for Reels and Shorts, 90 for a fuller sampler. The time is shared out between your tracks for you.

  5. It finds the best part of each track

It listens for the part that is loud and comes back, like a chorus, and cuts it on the beat. Each row shows which part it picked and the track's tempo.

  6. Fine-tune any part

Tap play to hear a part. The arrows move it one beat earlier or later, and Another part tries a different section of the song.

  7. Build up the energy, then hear it

Build up the energy puts your tracks from calm to loud. Move any track up or down, then tap Hear the mix to listen to the whole thing with its crossfades.

  8. Check the words on screen

Your artist name, the mix title, a headline like New album, Out Friday, and where to listen. They start filled in from your album, so often there is nothing to change.

  9. Tap Make the video

It makes a vertical 1080 by 1920 video right in your browser. A one-minute mix usually takes under a minute on a computer. Keep the tab open while it works.

  10. Download your video

It opens with your name and the mix title, shows each track with its canvas or cover and a line from its story, then a tracklist and the Latido end card. Tap Download MP4.

  11. Copy the caption and post

A caption with the tracklist and hashtags is ready to copy. Want just the sound? Just the audio (MP3) gives you the mix by itself.
