How to tell the story behind your song

Add a few sentences about why you made a song. It shows on your track page and helps people feel it. If you are not sure what to write, Latido can draft it from a sentence or two. Takes about two minutes.

  1. Open your Library

Tap Library in the bar at the bottom. On a computer it is on the left side. Your songs are listed there.

  2. Find your song and tap the three dots

Under Your Songs, find the track you want to add a story to. On a phone, tap the three dots on its row. On a computer there is an Edit button right on the row.

  3. Choose Edit

The track editor opens. You can change anything about your song here, including the story.

  4. Find the story box

It is called The story behind this song. Where were you, who is it for, what does it mean to you? A few sentences is plenty.

  5. Not sure what to write? Ask for a draft

Tap Not sure what to write? A small form opens. You only need to tell us a sentence or two, and we write the first draft for you.

  6. Tell us about the song in a sentence or two

Write just the facts, in your own words: who it is about, where you were, why you made it. We only use what you write here and your lyrics, so the more you tell us, the better the draft.

  7. Pick a tone and tap Draft my story

Choose Heartfelt, Playful, or Short and punchy, then tap Draft my story. It takes a few seconds.

  8. Read it, then make it yours

The draft appears in the story box. Change anything that does not sound like you. Too long? Tap Make it shorter, or Try again for a fresh version.

  9. Choose whether we may feature your story

Your story always shows on your track page. The box is off until you tick it. Tick it only if you are happy for Latido to feature your story on the homepage, the blog and social posts, always with your name and a link to your track. You can change this any time.

  10. Tap Save changes

Scroll to the bottom and tap Save changes.

  11. Done. Your story is on your track page

Anyone who opens your song can read it. Stories that artists are happy to share are also collected on the Stories page.
